V is for Vendetta
Manitou Springs, CO
Photography by Neil Talbott

Manitou Springs, Colorado, is like nowhere else. Award-winning restaurants, historic hotels, small restored Victorian bed & breakfasts, classic 50’s motels, cabins & cottages by Fountain Creek and secluded wooded campgrounds bring thousands of tourists to the small town at the base of Pikes Peak.

Named after dozen mineral springs situated throughout the area, many of which have drinking spigots for the public, the city has been in existence since the Colorado Territory became a state in 1876.

With the Manitou Springs Art Council a driving force, Manitou Springs is home to dozens of artists and art galleries and as eccentric and charming a group of residents as you’ll ever meet.

Neil snapped this shot one hot afternoon just before the caped crusader stepped into  Pikes Peak Chocolate and Ice Creams. Even a masked man, it seems, has a yen for a Josh and John ice cream cone now and then.

More of Neil’s unique take on Manitou Springs are available in his studio, #105, at Cottonwood Center for the Arts, 427 E. Colorado in downtown Colorado Springs or on Facebook at Talbott Artworks. He can also be reached by email¬† or by phone at (719) 532-0499
