Pen and Ink Tribute ~ Cripple Creek Prospector

July 5, 2011 Leave a comment

Summer in Colorado Springs features lots of flashbacks to a gold mining pioneer past. The annual Pikes Peak Rodeo, Territory Days, longhorn cattle drives through downtown, Donkey Days in Cripple Creek and the traditional early morning cowboy breakfast for 6,000 in America the Beautiful Park. Rock Ledge Ranch in Garden of the Gods Park opens with sheep shearing, blacksmiths and Native American ceremonies.

All the seasonal focus on the area’s old-time roots inspired illustrator Neil Talbott’s pen and ink drawing of a Cripple Creek gold mining prospector.

Neil Talbott’s illustrations and his commissioned works in progress can be seen and purchased at his studio #105 at Cottonwood Center for the Arts, 427 E. Colorado Avenue in downtown Colorado Springs, CO. Can’t make it in person? Email Neil or reach him by telephone at (719) 523-0499.
