Manitou Springs Emma Crawford Coffin Race portraits come alive in Cottonwood Center for the Arts Studio #105 in “Portraits of Manitou”. Photographer and artist Neil Talbott shows the fascinating and quirky world of Manitou Springs Colorado with his Manitou Portraits during the month of October.

Opening October 4th and continuing to November 4th, stop in and prepare yourself for 2011 Emma Crawford Coffin Races and Cottonwood’s 3rd Annual Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) Celebration.

Working against a July 22nd show deadline, local illustrator Neil Talbott highlights his pen and ink portrait of “Colorado Woman”with light watercolor washes.

The final version, artfully framed by Cristine Colvin of Frameworks, Cottonwood Center for the Arts’ own in house framer, is being hung at this month’s show in the Herbertson Gallery for “Hats, Boots & Chaps”.

More of Neil’s commissions and portraits can be seen in his studio,#105, at Cottonwood’s Last Friday Open House on July 29th from 5pm to 8pm. The show, full of some of Colorado Springs finest artists’ homage to the 71st Pikes Peak Rodeo season will hang through August 17th.

Forest Garden Nymph Watercolor Sells During International Watermedia Open House

Cottonwood Center for the Arts June “Last Friday” Open House drew a huge crowd for the International Watermedia 2011 Show.

After viewing the show, visitors stopped by  Neil Talbott’s Open Studio to see his newest pen and ink illustrations and watercolors portraits.

His radiant small watercolor “Nymph in the Garden” was purchased early in the evening.

Whether Neil is painting people, beloved pets or local landmarks, the gentle, expressive portraits that hang on the walls of his studio, #105 at Cottonwood Center for the Arts, seem to radiate an inner glow.
